The Barlaston Strollers and Striders’ walks were very well attended this month.  We stayed local for the first Wednesday walk & went to Hem Heath woods via the canal.  The rain held off and the sun decided to came out when we’d all put our waterproofs on - typical!  We returned to the Plume for coffee and cake where we were made very welcome🤗   We saw lots of wildlife & walk leader Steve captured the heron beautifully.  The next walk was an Away-Walk along the Trent & Mersey canal to Westport Lake.  Lots of chatting & laughter with both groups meeting up at the Middleport Pottery café, set in the original packing house.  There’s a wide range of homemade lunches, cream teas, cakes & oatcakes on offer, all served on Burleigh dinnerware🤗🫖☕️🍰

If you’d like to join us, we walk on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month - contact Sandie (Group Leader) on 07496 088544 for more details❣️

Huge thanks to Wombler Mandy who is out several times a week & keeps us informed of the state of the lanes!  Everyone enjoys her FB posts, & the photo of the abandoned hoover outside the gates of the Wedgwood Memorial College with the caption ‘someone’s idea of cleaning up!’  highlights that a sense of humour is vital when clearing up other people’s rubbish‼️🚯  Just ask Margaret & Gordon who regularly clear up after the Old Road Nappy-Chucker has been out‼️🆘⚠️

MASSIVE THANKS as always to all our regular Womblers - Joe & Heather who are spotted every week along Meaford Rd, Margaret & Gordon and David in Cocknage Soph uses Wombling as a stress-buster & did a great job along Wedgwood Drive last week, although it took much longer than usual after the cutters had been out shredding everything into a 100 pieces‼️😳😲😱

The SILVER SURFERS team is back‼️ From tapping Apps to sending Snaps - our Gurus will be on hand to help you get the most from your gadgets👍🤗💻🤳📳  They meet in the Ruth Dickson room at the rear of the Village Hall on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, starting October 9th.  Call Steve on 07861 617932 or Tony on 07783 009194 to book a slot🤗
